Annual Open Day Cruyff Foundation

On Wednesday, September 18, the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam was transformed into a gigantic sports paradise for children with a disability. Around 1,250 children with and without disabilities were present at the 19th Open Day of the Cruyff Foundation, and were introduced to 30 different sports, such as (wheelchair) basketball, sitting volley, football, kickboxing and tennis. In just one afternoon, the children were given the opportunity to practice many different sports and find out which sport suits them best.

It was a perfect afternoon: the weather was good, there were many (well-known) ambassadors from the foundation (such as Ronald Koeman, Frank Rijkaard, Bibian Mentel and Humberto Tan) and both inside and in front of the stadium all kinds of sports and cultural activities took place, where playing together (rule 13 of Johan Cruyffs 14 rules) was key.

The Open Day was festively opened at 14:14 by the wife and daughter of Johan Cruyff. Of course, also all ambassadors were present on stage. There was even a deaf interpreter on stage, so that everyone could understand what the presenters and ambassadors had to say.

As a partner of the Cruyff Foundation, TenCate Grass was also present during the Open Day.
