ISO Certification for TenCate Middle East
ISO certification provides an internationally recognised framework for managing quality, environmental performance, and occupational health and safety.
TenCate Thiolon ME LLC has achieved certification to ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management). These certifications confirm that the company’s management systems are clearly defined, consistently applied, and suited to the operational context of its grass yarn manufacturing facilities in the UAE.
Operational implementation
The UAE operations function within a complex production environment where manufacturing, quality control, maintenance, logistics, and training interact on a daily basis. Managing these activities safely, efficiently, and consistently requires well structured processes.
While experience and technical expertise remain essential, formalised management systems ensure continuity, traceability, and control. Many robust practices were already in place prior to certification, including structured training programmes supported by a digital Learning Management System, comprehensive health, safety, and environmental controls, and a zero waste to landfill approach, resulting in 98 percent recycling across all waste streams.
The ISO framework aligns these existing practices, ensures they are properly documented, and embeds them consistently across all operational levels.
Reflecting on the importance of this milestone, Johan Vercruyssen, HSEQ and Learning and Development Manager, explains: “Reaching this level of standardisation gives the organisation stability. That stability is what allows improvement, learning and growth, and ultimately enables the company to perform better over time.”
The certification process included a detailed assessment of operational risks, environmental aspects, preventive and corrective measures, and management oversight. It also verified that responsibilities are clearly defined and that procedures are consistently applied in practice.
On 28 November 2025, TenCate Thiolon ME LLC successfully achieved certification to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
Continual improvement
ISO certification is not viewed as an endpoint, but as a milestone that reflects the maturity of existing systems. Operating conditions, risks, and regulatory requirements evolve, and the ISO standards provide a structured framework to address these changes in a controlled way.
Continual improvement remains central to daily operations, supporting ongoing progress in quality, safety, and environmental performance, and strengthening the long term reliability of the organisation.
