Our Strategy
From vision to action
Shaping the future of turf takes more than innovation. It calls for direction, discipline and clear priorities. The strategy is built on long-term value for people, the environment and the communities where turf is part of daily life. From circular design to access to play, each pillar marks a shift toward systems that perform, last and leave less impact.
Turf makes play possible in places where natural grass cannot thrive. That includes dense urban spaces, dry climates and all-season sports facilities. TenCate systems provide consistent quality without the need for water, chemicals or intensive maintenance.
New systems are moving away from infill. Models such as Pure PT and Pivot® combine natural playability with lower environmental impact. These systems reflect the next step in how turf is used and understood.
With Pure EP, field hockey can now be played without irrigation. The system replicates wet-field performance while saving up to 20,000 litres per match. Especially in water-stressed areas, this opens the door for long-term use.
Lighter materials, local production and simplified logistics all help reduce emissions. Targets are not just compliance-driven but part of product design and development. The goal is lower impact at every stage.
Sustainability is integrated across operations. From ethical sourcing and ESG reporting to inclusive stakeholder engagement, each step is focused on lowering environmental pressure and increasing long-term value.
Old turf no longer signals the end. Through recycling partnerships in Europe and the United States, legacy materials are now converted into new resources. Mechanical and advanced recycling both play a role in closing the loop.
Sustainable supply depends on transparency, proximity and accountability. TenCate focuses on regional sourcing, open dialogue and ESG standards across the chain to improve reliability and reduce risk.
