Two Hockey Fields for FIH World Cup Qualifiers in Hyderabad
Two new international hockey fields hosted matches during the FIH Women’s Hockey World Cup Qualifiers in Hyderabad, Telangana. The fields were installed by Altius Sports & Leisure Pvt. Ltd., TigerTurf’s partner in India. The tournament brought together eight national teams competing for a place at the 2026 FIH Women’s Hockey World Cup. Both the main competition field and the practice field were fully relaid to meet the standards required for international hockey competition.
Delivered in 45 Days
The project involved a full upgrade of the facility, including the removal of the previous turf, repairs to the base structure, installation of a cast-in-situ shock pad, installation of the new turf system, and the construction of a completely renewed sprinkler system. Pathways, fencing, and supporting infrastructure were also upgraded as part of the works. From final design approval and manufacturing through installation, the entire project was completed in approximately 45 days, making it one of the fastest deliveries of two international hockey fields in India.
TigerTurf Wett Pro Surface
Both fields featured TigerTurf’s Wett Pro, a high-performance hockey surface designed for elite international competition. The turf was manufactured at TigerTurf’s facility in Safina, Portugal, before being airlifted to India to meet the accelerated timeline. Installation was carried out by the Altius Sports team in Hyderabad. The project required close coordination across manufacturing, logistics, and on-site construction teams to ensure the fields were ready in time for the tournament.
Tournament Completed
The inaugural ceremony for the qualifiers was held with coverage across national broadcasters as well as the official channels of Hockey India and the International Hockey Federation (FIH). With the new surfaces in place, players from eight nations competed in Hyderabad for a coveted place at the 2026 Women’s Hockey World Cup
